If you’ve never had an HVAC system replaced before, you might be pretty nervous about replacing yours.
We get it. The entire idea can feel pretty daunting.
But since HVAC systems are necessities, especially during the long, hot months of Texas summers, we thought we’d try to put your mind at ease by answering some of the most common questions we get.
Costs can vary wildly from home to home. Costs depend on the following factors:
The best way to calculate costs is to contact Dalton Air Conditioning and Heating LLC for a free estimate. That’s the only way to get the information you need. Fortunately, you can have peace of mind as you do that. We offer 72 months of financing with approved credit, too.
The process usually takes either half a day or a full day depending on the size of the home and the complexity of the install.
It would be extremely rare to need more time than that.
It depends on what kind of shape your ductwork is in.
In an ideal world, if your ductwork is ten years older than your new unit, you’ll probably need to get it changed out. Like the HVAC system itself, ductwork typically only lasts 10-15 years.
However, we understand that the costs of changing out ductwork can be prohibitive. If your ductwork is still working okay then we’ll always tell you.
It depends on the thermostat.
If you have a brand new smart thermostat that’s in great condition and continues to function exactly as it should, you don’t have to replace it. If you have an older thermostat that was doing a bad job of regulating the system temperature to begin with, then you might want to go ahead and get it replaced at the same time.
If you aren’t sure, ask your AC technician! We’re here to make recommendations that are unique to your specific system and circumstances.
10 to 15 years is the average, but there’s a little known secret about HVAC systems.
They can last up to 25 years if they are serviced properly. That means scheduling your spring and fall tune-ups every year without fail.
If you’re having your system replaced, why not sign up for our Safety & Efficiency Inspection Program or our Safety & Efficiency VIP Gold Program at the same time? You’ll save money on expensive repair costs while ensuring your AC lasts as long as possible.
If your HVAC is running on fumes, or worse, is emitting them, it’s time to call us.
We’ll help you choose the best system for your unique needs, and will install it properly so that it continues to keep your home comfortable for as long as possible.
