Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to share a major industry change that is occurring in 2025. While we would have preferred to bring this to your attention sooner, the situation has been fluid, and we wanted to make sure that we had personally researched how the upcoming change will directly affect the industry and costs associated with this upcoming change.
As of January 1, 2025, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated that all new residential air conditioners and heat pumps must wave goodbye to R410-A and convert to A2L refrigerants. The driver behind this was to provide equipment with a much lower Global Warming Potential which is a great thing in regards to environmental impact, although painful to our wallets in the interim. Unfortunately, we are anticipating a 20% increase in costs due to the following reasons:
You may be particularly affected by these changes if you:
If any of the above applies to you, you may want to consider replacing your system this year, while R410-A equipment remains available at a lower cost. Currently, system replacements average around $8,000, but costs may rise after the EPA mandate takes effect.
If you have questions about your current system or want a free estimate, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to help you make the best decision for your family’s comfort and budget. Lastly, we have some great tax credits, rebates, and 0% APR for 72 months financing to offer.
Respectfully,
James Dalton
