Systems that are not properly maintained will often yield higher energy bills, sub-par air quality, humidity issues within the home, and most importantly a shorter life span of your equipment. Let us help you stay comfortable and save you money in the long run.

Dalton Air Conditioning offers two system maintenance options. Our standard program is representative of what you will find throughout our industry and includes two yearly trips and a basic inspection of your system. What can I do to keep my system properly maintained?
The most important thing you can do as a homeowner is to change your filter(s). Depending on the type of filter, along with the frequency the system is used, a filter change is needed anywhere from every thirty days to every six months. With our climate and frequent system use in the summer months, it is highly recommended that you change extended life filters more often than suggested manufacturer guidelines.
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your system. With the high cost of system replacements today, it only makes sense to protect your investment. Even if your system is new, we suggest that you have maintenance twice a year. Our maintenance checks are normally scheduled for late February through March, and then again in late September through October.

We often have clients ask about the temperature setting of the system when they are away from the home either for work purposes or even extended vacations. I do not ever recommend shutting the system down completely especially in summer months. Remember that we have high humidity and we need to control this humidity at all times. Setting the temperature above 85F during the summer months is not recommended. Humidity exposure on the interior of your home can be devastating to wood floors, paneling, and of course, can lead to mold issues.

A properly maintained system will yield a higher life span. Depending on the manufacturer and efficiency rating of your system, I would expect 8-12 years of low maintenance and worry-free operation. This life expectancy is greatly determined by proper installation methods and maintenance.
