What can I do to keep my system properly maintained?
What can I do to keep my system properly maintained?
The most important thing you can do as a homeowner is to change your filter(s). Depending on the type of filter, along with the frequency the system is used, a filter change is needed anywhere from every thirty days to every six months. With our climate and frequent system use in the summer months, it is highly recommended that you change extended life filters more often than suggested manufacturer guidelines.
How often do I need to have my system checked by a professional?
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your system. With the high cost of system replacements today, it only makes sense to protect your investment. Even if your system is new, we suggest that you have maintenance twice a year. Our maintenance checks are normally scheduled for late February through March, and then again in late September through October.

What temperature should I set my system when I am not home?
We often have clients ask about the temperature setting of the system when they are away from the home either for work purposes or even extended vacations. I do not ever recommend shutting the system down completely especially in summer months. Remember that we have high humidity and we need to control this humidity at all times. Setting the temperature above 85F during the summer months is not recommended. Humidity exposure on the interior of your home can be devastating to wood floors, paneling, and of course, can lead to mold issues.
